WYATT/ PETTY/ COX
I am looking for information on Andrew Jackson WYATT who was born in or what was to become
Burnet County in 1854. His parents names were Jordan WYATT and Charlotte PETTY. They were
both from KY, although they were married in TX. Andrew is listed in the 1880 Census as
being married to a Mary A ????. Now one of their sons, my g grandfather,Jordan Wyatt also,
onhis delayed birth cetificate says that his mothers name was Polly COX. Now Polly was a
common nickname for Mary, but for the life of me I cannot find a polly or a Mary COX who
married a Andrew Jackson WYATT, let alone any WYATT. One of my big problems with having
any information available on her is that she died when my g grandfather was quite young
and my gg granfather remaried in 1890. Oh yes, and the couthouse with the marriage lic.
was burned in 1880. The WYATT family lived right on the Colorado River across from
Blufton, Llano County so many of their marriages are recorded Llano County. Many Thanks,

BUCHANAN/ STARK
I am trying to find the names of the parents of Riley Amber BUCHANAN, Henry BUCHANAN,
Charley BUCHANAN and Marion BUCHANAN. Riley would have been born in 1872, and I know that
Henry was born on October 10, 1878. I found a William Ambrose BUCHANAN and a Francis STARK
who had two children born to them. One child was named Marion S. BUCHANAN, born 1/27/1877
in San Saba, Texas. The second son was named Charles Buchanan, born 1/31/1882 in San Saba,
Texas. These two names match the names of at least two of the brothers I have on my list.
But being that I don't know the parent's names, I have no way of knowing for sure. I am
hoping that someone can tell me more about William Ambrose BUCHANAN and his Wife Francis
STARK. Could they possibly be the parents of the four BUCHANAN's that I'm researching? If
anyone in San Saba know or can find out more on this family of William and Francis
BUCHANAN, please do not hesitate in e- mailing me.

KING/ HALL
I am searching for ANY info. re: the surnames KING or HALL. Surely someone in Burnet or
the surrounding counties has heard of these names. My grandfather John HALL, says on his
marriage certificate that he was from Burnet,TX. Born ca. 1860. He says his father's name
was David HALL and his mother's name was Mary and, or, Annie KING. Grandpa went on a
cattle drive in the early 1880's with the following men; Bud ALLISON, Jake WILLIAMSON, Cal
STUART/STEWART, Jerry (Bowlegs) BUCKELY, Charlie DAVLIN, Sterling CROSS, Smokey HARVEY,
Sam BASS, Bill HUMBLE, Fred GARDNER, Sam BENSON & John LEE the trail boss. I know they
went through Colorado, because there was some trouble in CO with some vigilanties and they
thought "ol Sterling CROSS was dead." The drive was for A.J. DAVIS, S.T. HAUSER
and Granville STUART (copper mine kings of MT). The DHS brand. A cousin says that she
thought grandpa said they were all related, or at least Bud ALLISON and grandpa were
cousins. Grandpa John spent his remaining days in MT and died there in 1937. His life
before arriving in MT remains a mystery. He says his mother died in TX in 1872 but, makes
no mention of his father, other than his name. Does anyone know if any of the above names
are of German decent? I thought HALL was English or Irish. Does anyone know how Kingsland,
TX got it's name? Does anyone know how I can access old Texas Ranger records? Maybe
grandpa changed his name.
